U2 Tour 2027: Berlin and Milan Best for Hungarians

U2 will return to European stadiums in 2027 with the Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth tour. According to the band's official announcement, the currently confirmed itinerary begins in Stockholm and includes Amsterdam, Berlin, Lisbon, Milan, Paris and London, among other cities.

The schedule announced in the first round is less convenient for Central European fans: no concerts have been confirmed in either Budapest or Vienna. From a Hungarian perspective, Berlin and Milan therefore stand out on the list, although other cities may also be worth considering depending on travel options and plans for a multi-day trip.

The European leg begins in Stockholm

According to U2, the European leg will begin at Stockholm's Strawberry Arena on 26 April 2027. British band Wolf Alice will support U2 at the announced concerts.

The officially listed European destinations are Stockholm, Amsterdam, Berlin, Lisbon, Milan, Paris and London. The London concerts will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The dates in Spain will be announced later, while the band has also promised further information about dates in Ireland and North America.

The current list should therefore not necessarily be regarded as the complete 2027 schedule. However, there is currently no confirmed information on whether Budapest or Vienna will be included in a later expansion, so those planning to buy tickets should not assume that a closer concert will be announced.

Berlin and Milan are the two most obvious choices

According to the official schedule, the Berlin concert will take place on 30 June 2027. The German capital's location and transport connections could make it the easiest announced destination to reach for many Hungarian fans.

U2 will perform in Milan on both 5 and 6 July 2027. Two consecutive concerts may offer more choice than a single date, but this does not in itself guarantee that tickets will be easier to buy. Actual availability will depend on demand and the seats released during the sale.

When choosing between the two cities, it is worth considering more than the concert ticket alone. The cost of flights, trains or coaches, accommodation, access to the stadium and the timing of the return journey will together determine the total expense. As official ticket prices have not yet been published, it is not currently possible to compare the expected cost of trips to Berlin and Milan accurately.

Ticket sales will begin in three stages

According to the official tour announcement, the presale for eligible U2.com subscribers will begin on 2 November 2026. This will be followed by the Visa presale on 4 November, with the general sale starting on 6 November. According to Hot Press, general ticket sales will open at 10 am local time.

Access to a presale does not necessarily guarantee a ticket. Before buying, it is advisable to check what membership, bank card or advance registration is required for the relevant presale, as well as which ticket seller is handling the selected concert. Conditions may vary by venue and sales channel.

Ticket prices and the individual price categories are not yet known. It may therefore be prudent to finalise travel and non-refundable accommodation only after securing a concert ticket and carefully checking the booking conditions. It is particularly important to check whether the ticket is issued in a specific name, whether it can be transferred and what rules apply to any refunds.

Larry Mullen Jr. returns to the touring line-up

According to Pollstar, Larry Mullen Jr. will return to U2's touring line-up following surgery and his recovery. This is a particularly significant development for fans, as the drummer is one of the defining figures behind the band's distinctive sound.

According to JamBase, this will be U2's first stadium tour since The Joshua Tree Tour ended in 2019. The 2027 series is therefore more than another concert tour: it also marks a return to large-scale outdoor and stadium productions.

The tour was announced in connection with the band's new studio album, Carnaval De Luz. According to Music Week, Brian Eno co-wrote the tour's title single, The Greatest Show On Earth, while Live Nation Global Touring is the global promoter of the concert series.

Is it worth waiting for a closer destination?

The fact that the Spanish and Irish dates will be announced later shows that the schedule will expand. However, this does not mean that further dates will be added in East-Central Europe. There has been no official announcement about a possible concert in Budapest or Vienna.

The decision therefore depends primarily on how important guaranteed attendance is. For anyone determined to see U2 live in 2027, Berlin or Milan may be the most obvious choice among the cities already announced. Those who are flexible but would only travel to a closer venue can wait for further announcements, bearing in mind that ticket availability for the concerts already announced may become more limited in the meantime.

The most important step now is to check the chosen city, presale eligibility and the November sale date. The total cost of the trip can only be meaningfully estimated once ticket prices are published, while the possible addition of Budapest or Vienna can only be confirmed by a later official announcement.
