Three large-scale events spanning different genres have been added to Budapest’s arena calendar. Nickelback are returning to the capital after a long absence, the MVM Dome will host a major New Year’s Eve festival, and Cirque du Soleil’s revamped OVO show is also coming to Budapest.
Nickelback return to Budapest after ten years
29 June 2027 · Papp László Budapest Sportaréna
Nickelback’s next world tour will include a stop in Budapest. According to Live Nation, the Canadian rock band are returning to the Hungarian capital after a ten-year absence, with their concert set to take place at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna on 29 June 2027.
The Budapest show is part of the Everything Under The Sun Tour. The tour’s name also refers to the band’s next studio album: according to Blabbermouth, the eleventh Nickelback album, bearing the same title, is due to be released on 30 October 2026. The concert may therefore be more than simply a return, offering Budapest an introduction to the band’s new era.
Live Nation has announced British band Don Broco as the evening’s special guest. The rock band’s performance is expected to be a substantial part of the programme in its own right, so visitors should not plan their arrival solely around Nickelback’s expected stage time. However, it is advisable to check the organiser’s latest information closer to the concert for the exact start time.
The tour title suggests that new material could play an important part in the set. However, the final Budapest setlist is not known in advance, so it is impossible to say with certainty how the new songs and fan favourites from earlier albums will be balanced. After a ten-year break between Budapest appearances, the concert may also appeal to those who last saw Nickelback live at the band’s previous show in Hungary.
Before buying tickets, it is worth checking the available ticket types and current terms on Live Nation’s event page. Prices shown on secondary ticketing websites may differ from those offered through official sales channels, so the platform specified by the organiser should be the first place to look.
HELLO 2027 plans an all-night festival at the MVM Dome
31 December 2026 · MVM Dome
Instead of a traditional New Year’s Eve concert, HELLO 2027 promises an all-night festival programme featuring several performers. According to the MVM Dome, the event will be held at the arena on 31 December 2026. The choice of venue suggests that the organisers see the celebration as a large-scale indoor festival.
According to Blikk, Weekend Event, the team behind the STRAND Festival, is organising the event. The programme aims to recreate the atmosphere of summer festivals in an arena setting, with performers appearing on two stages, the publication reports. The full timetable, with exact hours and minutes, cannot yet be considered final, so visitors should not plan their arrival around a presumed running order.
Blikk reports that the announced performers include Mehringer, Sisi, Hundred Sins, Irie Maffia, KKevin, Lil Frakk, Hazetomika, gyuris, Mollywood and VZS. The line-up brings together artists with different styles, meaning the event is expected to be more like a festival comprising several concerts than an evening built around a single headline act.
Beton.Hofi’s New Year concert will be a highlight of the evening. According to the announcement and Blikk’s report, the rapper will perform after midnight, with a 90-minute set planned. This means midnight will not mark the end of the event, but rather an important turning point in the main programme.
Given the multiple stages and lengthy programme, visitors should consider in advance which performers they most want to see. It is advisable to check the final timetable, admission details and any venue rules again in information published by the organiser or venue before the event.
When choosing tickets, both the price and the area and access rights associated with each category may be important. As the programme may span several parts of the venue and an extended period, buyers should read the description of their chosen ticket type carefully before making a purchase. Here too, the sales channel specified by the organiser or the MVM Dome is a more reliable starting point than unofficial resale offers.
Cirque du Soleil’s revamped OVO is coming to Budapest
12 March 2027 · MVM Dome
Cirque du Soleil is returning to Budapest with its arena production OVO. According to Funcode’s event page, performances will be held at the MVM Dome from 11 to 14 March 2027. The multi-day run may offer a range of times, so ticket buyers should carefully check both the date and start time of their selected performance.
OVO centres on a bustling world inhabited by insects. The story is not advanced through traditional dialogue: the characters’ movements, acrobatic acts, music, costumes and visuals work together to shape the production’s atmosphere. This may make the show easy to follow for those attending primarily for the circus skills and stage spectacle.
According to Funcode’s description, this is not simply the unchanged return of the earlier show. The production’s visual design has been revamped, its costumes redesigned, its acrobatic acts reworked and its live music updated. The new version may therefore also offer something fresh to those who have seen a previous performance of OVO.
The size of the company gives a clear sense of the arena show’s complexity. According to Funcode, a 100-strong team from 25 countries works on the production, while 53 acrobats and musicians appear on stage. These figures indicate not only the number of performers, but also the considerable technical and organisational operation behind the show.
When buying tickets, it is particularly important to check the selected date and start time, as the Budapest run consists of several performances. Seat availability and prices may vary between dates and times; current information is available on the official ticketing platform.
Of the three featured arena events, OVO offers the most multidisciplinary experience: rather than a concert, it combines acrobatics, theatrical spectacle, costume design and live music. Alongside Nickelback’s performance and the HELLO 2027 festival, it demonstrates the range of genres capable of filling Budapest’s largest indoor event venues.
